The Ensemble “Shvidkatsa” has 28 years experience in performing Georgian Polyphonic songs, including ancient Georgian folk songs, church (hymns) and urban songs. The Ensemble won the gold medal of the World Youth’s 6th Festival. Since1998, the Ensemble “Shvidkatsa” recorded 4-urban CDs, 2-folk CDs,1- church songs CD, 1-folk DVD, and 2-urban DVD. All the members of the ensemble perform on Georgian folk instruments and guitar. The Ensemble “Shvidkatsa” established music studio in Saint Trinity Cathedral to teach folk songs to young generation of Georgians (more than 200 boys). The Ensemble was established in the Tbilisi State Medical University. since 2001 the Ensemble started performing at the Cathedral Church of Svetitskhoveli; Starting from 2004 to date, the Ensemble “Shvidkatsa” sings at the Saint Trinity Lavra and participates in all the masses and prayers of the Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II; The “Shvidkatsa” has performed numerous solo concerts in Georgia, as well as abroad.
