Dirty Rhythms as a band was organized in 1997 in St. Petersburg, Russia by Fenix Pilligrimm Malcolm (FPM) and Renigato Infius Prato (RIP). Their musical goal was to create a style of music that would combine rap, electronica and folk instruments from different countries together. The result was a style registered officially as "Gothic Rap." At the beginning of the millenniums Fenix Pilligrimm immigrated to the US to New York where he successfully graduated from the Institute of Audio Research and for the first time Dirty Rhythms music was played on American radio in Russian. No Russian band has ever managed to play in the USA in their own language on the radio before, Dirty Rhythms officially did it for the first time. But in 2018 the work on Gothic rap was finished and at the moment Dirty Rhythms are experimenting with other styles of music, mostly electronic, such as Big Beat, Drum & Bass and Ambient.
