We are a Kangaroo and Wombat sanctuary in South Australia. All our kangaroos and Wombats are all rescued orphaned babies after their mums had died. In South Australia orphaned joeys can’t be released back to the wild as it’s illegal to do so in our state. All of our kids (yep their all my kids) will live here at our sanctuary called Pumpkins Patch Kangaroo Sanctuary. In captivity kangaroos can live anywhere from 15 to 25 years The wombats can live to over 30 years It’s a big commitment and we just love it. Rufus is very different to the rest of our kangaroos and just loves his couch, he comes to the back door every evening asking to come in and we just do what makes him happy. The other kangaroos will come in now and then but they don’t stay in long before wanting to hop back off outside .
