Michael George Gibbins was born on March 12, 1949 in Swansea, Wales. His father bought him his first drum kit at age 14. His first groups were The Planet, Club Four and The Misfits. At age 16, Mike joined a professional band, The Iveys. Mal Evans turned The Beatles onto The Iveys' demos in 1968 and got them signed to Apple Records. They had a minor hit with "Maybe Tomorrow" and major hit with "Come And Get It", then they changed their name to Badfinger. Mike played drums on all of the albums until 1975. Mike was always writing and recording demos, primarily on guitar. contributing to many songs over the years: "It Had To Be'", "In The Meantime" and "Back Again" just to name a few. In 1972, he took a break from Badfinger and recorded 4 demos with the help of some Welsh musician friends. He was the first to make new endeavors with other artists, from The Flying Aces to Bonnie Tyler. Mike went on to produce bands as well as record 4 solo albums of his own before his passing in 2005.
