Madeleine Michel Matar a Lebanese pop singer born in the mountain region of Lebanon. Growing up surrounded by the music of Umm Kalthoum, Fairouz, and Wadih El Safi, she developed a deep passion for Arabic song from an early age. She pursued her talent seriously, studying Oriental singing at the Higher National Institute of Music for four years, building the technical foundation that would define her career. Her breakthrough came when the legendary Wadih El Safi invited her to perform alongside him at a charity concert in London, where he personally introduced her to the audience. The press took immediate notice, and Madeleine returned to Lebanon with newfound momentum. She went on to win the Kaas El Jomhour (People's Award) on the popular LBC show Kaas El Nojoum in 1998, earning the love of audiences across the country. In 2001, she signed with Rotana Records and released her debut album Raydah. Her 2003 follow-up, Ala Bali Hawak, became her defining moment — its title track topping charts across the Arab world and cementing her status as one of the region's leading voices. Her 2005 album Bahebak Wadari further solidified her legacy with timeless tracks like Ana Laminn and Sultan El Hawa. Beyond music, Madeleine has appeared on Lebanese television and in Egyptian films. She has performed across the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, France, the UK, Spain, and Morocco, and continues to release music to this day.
