About Byron Kirk - Topic
BK's interest in music began early in life. By age 4 he was pecking out melodies on the family piano, learning beats on his toy drum set by age 6, and plucking strings on an old guitar by age 8. By age 10 he was jamming on drums with some older home town musicians. By age 12 he was lead guitarist and vocalist in a band with school chums. He began writing music at age 14 and developed a keen interest in multi-track recording. The combination of songwriting, playing multiple instruments, and recording engineering became his life long passion. The instruments in his took kit include lead guitar, bass guitar, drums, violin, keyboards, harmonica, and slide trombone. His primary instrument is of course guitar. As a performer BK has played with many bands, in many genres, and worked as a road musician for many years. Throughout his career he has worked in opening acts for Willie Nelson, Leanne Rymes, Merle Haggard, The Bellamy Brothers, Gary Stewart, Jimmy Buffet, Earl Thomas Conley, Ray Price, David Ball, Mo Bandy, Johnny Paycheck, Red Steagall, Dave Dudley, Rusty Wier, Louise Mandrell, Jerry Vale, Al Dean, and Charley Pride. As a music producer/engineer, BK has produced music for other composers. He also performed/produced music for DVDs and live theater, including the musical "My Boy Elvis". BK also performed/produced tracks for 3D Music Factory and their DVD series "The Gigglebellies". Between projects, BK writes and produces his own music.
