My name is Jay del Corro. I started this channel back in 2009 as a way to spend some time at home sharing some of the recipes I was learning at my part-time job at a local Japanese restaurant. At the time, I was just keeping myself occupied as I enjoyed watching J-vlogs as a way to escape and learn about Japanese culture. Since that time, I have uploaded more than 250 videos, gained over 40,000 subscribers, and made lots of good friends. Also, looking back today, I have been blessed to watch my kids grow up on this channel as well. When I started documenting recipes with a single handheld video camera, I had no intention or expectation that this would change my life, but it did. Today, I own a restaurant, that I started in 2012 that I run with my wife and sons. I have the honour of teaching high school kids and immigrant women the power of hard work and dreams. We have seen our employees move on with the confidence to do great things. Thank you for everything.
