Silent movies were never really silent - they were almost always shown with musical accompaniment, performed live at each showing by either a pianist, a organist, or an orchestra that varied in size from a few musicians to over 30 or more players. One of my interests in "silent" films is the music that was used and how the scores were compiled. The focus of this YouTube channel is to present some of my favorite "silent" films with a truly authentic music score that recreates what a person would have heard in a large theatre in the 1920's. I always use the original orchestra score if available or recreate the score from an original piano/conductor score or cue sheet. Enjoy! Greg
