Adobe Foundation, the social service wing of computer software giant Adobe Systems, has funded the setting up of a film studio,Prayasam Visual Basics Studio(PVB_Studio) in Calcutta where youngsters from underprivileged backgrounds will be taught the nuances of filmmaking. Patricia Cogley, manager, Adobe Foundation, was part of a four-member team that recently visited our Salt Lake Admin. Office, where the Grassroots Film Studio is located. Patricia said that they inspire youth across the world through their programme, Adobe Youth Voices (AYV), to express their views on social issues by using digital media, They support 700 NGOs in 60 countries. But this is the first time that they are helping build a studio from scratch outside the US. Saptarshi Ray, who is leading Prayasam's digital communication initiative, and two youngsters, Sikha Patra and Prabir Saha, who come from nearby colonies and dream of a career in films, had been chosen as delegates to the AYV summit held in California
