LiarsĀ have never stood still. AfterĀ forming in Los Angeles at the famed California Institute of the Arts, the bandĀ decamped to Brooklyn and released their first album, They Threw Us in a TrenchĀ and Stuck a Monument On Top (2001).Ā TheĀ record saw them at the vanguard of the Brooklyn 00'sĀ music scene after which Liars confounded expectations and began producing works built on exploration. Groundbreaking albums such as They Were Wrong, So We Drowned [2004] co-produced with David SitekĀ (TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and the Berlin created Drumās Not Dead [2006] awarded #6 in PitchforkāsĀ Top 50 Albums of thatĀ year, catapulted Liars to international critical acclaim.
