Torraccia del Piantavigna è unâazienda a conduzione familiare, che produce i propri vini dai 38 ettari di vigneti di proprietĂ situati a Ghemme e a Gattinara, ai piedi del Monte Rosa. La storia dellâazienda inizia negli anni â50 del secolo scorso quando Pierino Piantavigna, nonno materno dellâattuale generazione della famiglia Francoli, piantò il suo primo vigneto di Nebbiolo sulle colline sopra Ghemme, accanto alla torre diroccata, cosiddetta âTorracciaâ, del Castello di Cavenago. Fu poi Alessandro Francoli, presidente delle Distillerie Francoli, che fondò lâazienda Torraccia del Piantavigna nel 1997. Oggi due famiglie di Ghemme garantiscono il futuro di questâazienda agricola: la famiglia Francoli, distillatori di stimate grappe, e la famiglia Ponti, leader nel settore dellâaceto e conserve vegetali italiani.
