On the back of winning the Melody Maker Rock and Folk Festival, then touring Germany, Steve McDonald split with the band he had at that time and formed the first ever line up of McDonald's Farm back in 1974. After spending some time playing out in Germany, he and the band returned and became a resident band in a venue near Dundee, Scotland, where an under-age Grant Roberts saw him play for the first time. However, it wasn't until 1986, when McDonald's Farm were playing at Tramps nightclub and Steve got left without a bass player, that Grant stepped in, busked the whole set and the rest, as they say, is history! Steve and Grant are joined by Charlie Skeggs on drums/vocals and Justin Crowe on keys/vocals - this line-up has been solid for a year now and the band are going from strength to strength!
