Zeitzeugen TV wurde 1989 von Thomas Grimm gegründet und wird seitdem von ihm geleitet und maßgeblich geprägt. Seit über 30 Jahren macht Zeitzeugen TV soziologisch und historisch motivierte Filme und Reportagen und dokumentiert Lebenswege von Menschen mit der Kamera. Es entstanden Filmproduktionen für arte, ARD, DFF, FAB, MDR, ORB, rbb und Spiegel TV. Im Rahmen bzw. parallel zu dieser Filmarbeit wurden mehr als 6.000 Stunden Erinnerungen an das »Jahrhundert der Extreme« , wie der englische Historiker Eric Hobsbawm das 20. Jahrhundert genannt hat, aufgezeichnet. Auf diese Weise entstand ein einzigartiges Archiv von Zeitzeugengesprächen. Teile dieses Archives sind seit 2004 im Bestand der DEFA-Stiftung (Zeitzeugenarchiv Thomas Grimm bei der DEFA Stiftung). Derzeit befinden wir uns in der Digitalisierung unseres Bestandes für unsere neue Webseite www.grimmchronik.com
