For 28 years navigating the world of dikir barat performing arts, Keponakan22 has weathered many ups and downs. It began as a youth dikir barat group made up of students from Tanjong Katong Secondary School and 22 Andir Purba, founded by the late renowned artist Zaidy Nandir. Today, the group has grown to more than 150 members. Despite the commitment required from members to balance family life and their artistic pursuits, they continue to passionately advocate for and promote the traditional art of dikir barat through the generations.
