Vicious Pink, Brian Moss and Josephine Warden, are a Techno/Dance/Electronica duo formed in Leeds, England in 1981, active till 1986. Songs on YouTube, with a Million plus plays and even more plays on Spotify/Soundcloud, means their music is still being heard, often used in films and TV shows. With a catchy sound and a penchant for provocative lyrics they aimed for succces in the clubs rather than radio hits. Their first live appearance was as backing vocalists for Soft Cell. Later performing on Soft Cell's debut album, None Stop Erotic Cabaret, they went on to tour as the bands backing vocalists. They began writing and recording their own songs and became Soft Cell's support act. Dave Ball produced their first two singles. Mike Wiand, owner of The Warehouse in Leeds, became their manager and they began to headline at clubs, including The Hacienda in Manchester, Crocs Club in Rayleigh in Essex, and Rock City in Nottingham. Their singles include My Private Tokyo, Je T'aime, Cccan't You See, Fetish, Take Me Now, and 8.15 To Nowhere. One of the few bands in the early 80's that could be described as having a Techno sound, and can be credited for coining the term, describing their music as "Techno" in an interview with Sounds Magazine in 1982. They later played The Ritz in New York, The Hammersmith Palais and Camden Palace in London. The band stopped performing in 1986. After reforming in 2018, a new 2LP 'West View' was released in 2022.
