Hello everyone you have found MY channel. NOBODY ELSES. I own this channel in A number of ways one of them includes pie anyway enjoy my channel of doo..errr? I mean fun. fan of: crash bandicoot Ahhh, it's enough to kind of make you look back at the glory days of the Sega Genesis and the Super Nintendo. Granted Sega had a lot of half assed add ons. But back then games came first, and so did the customer. Now it's clear, money above all. maybe one day anime will be generally accepted as a form of entertainment around the western culture and will no longer be limited to college students and comic conventions. just a thought. I remember reading Game of the Year Awards in magazines in the 90's when there were 15 genre awards and awards for story, innovation and AI. Now, when you add up all 4 of these video's you see we have about 10 fantastic sellers from about 7 publishers, that even though they sold millions, not all made a profit because of the huge cost of game production in 2010! (gamespot) We are coming to a crossroads, where costs are going to mean 5 million sales just to break even in 2011, this means many 'hit' games will actually lose money! To have half a dozen publishers making profits (albeit smaller than 2009) on less than 20 titles covering 2-3 genres only is going to cause major problems for the industry. Until the games industry and media change how thy operate I see further declines in 2011. With all their eggs in one or two baskets, the games business is close to the edge of disaster, The news that DRM is coming in so if you buy a secondhand game you have to fork out $10 to the publisher to play it shows how desperate they are! With Mass Effect 2 and 3 becoming more 'action orientated', with talk of Dragon Age 2 being more of a 'action-adventure' and with Bioshock 3 being more or less a typical shooter, you can see how we are slowly moving to one genre, mostly shooter, mostly first person and with tiny bits of roleplaying and puzzle solving added in, An entertainment market cannot survive with variaions on one style of game - and yet this is the direction the games market is taking. IP is a tricky subject. Who owns it? Is it the person who comes up with the idea initially (the developers), or is it the people who fund the tens of millions of dollars in salaries, technology, software, marketing and production to make the idea a reality?
