My name's Norm, and I like to build stuff. I'm a hobbyist luthier (since Nov 2019). I'm not a guitar manufacturer, guitar teacher, or a monetized "YouTuber". I'm a retired engineer and have been playing guitar for over 40 years. I learned basic carpentry from my father, and took all kinds of shop in Jr and Sr high school (wood, metal, foundry, plastic, drafting, and electronics). I learned how to build guitars by watching all of the builds by Ben Crowe of Crimson Guitars, along with some stuff from Brad Angove, Big D guitars, Texas Toast Guitars, and Guns and Guitars, amongst others. As of May 2023, I've done perhaps 60 builds/mods - I stopped counting. Originally, YouTube was a way to document my builds. But I enjoy build videos, so I started making them - just for fun. I try to include all steps, including errors and error recovery, and tools, materials, supplies, and methods used (full disclosure policy).
