師父說：聽經，能幫我們開悟，熏習，一天都不能中斷！ 佛講過，在沒有證得阿羅漢之前，不可以相信自己的意思，自己的意思是凡夫知見，是輪迴知見。隨順你自己的意思，決定造輪迴業。沒有開悟之前，隨順佛的教誨，你經教不熟、不深入，你就辦不到。多少修行人一輩子不能成就，原因在哪？隨順妄想分別執著，隨順自己。佛法也聽，但是到關鍵的時候，他還是相信妄想分別執著，把佛法忘掉了。這什麼道理？佛法薰習的時間太短，不能夠產生力量。要知道我們煩惱習氣的薰習，無始劫以來力量多麼的強大，我們要想把這個力量削弱，把自性性德力量向上提升，無過於薰習，古德教我們「一門深入，長時薰修」，很有道理。我們從經典裡曉得，釋迦牟尼佛的僧團當年在世，每天學習經教八小時！怎樣遠離妄想，不再造業？只有一個方法，上課。講經、聽經，每天八個小時，天天不間斷，這樣才離開妄想。遠離妄想，你的身口就不會造業，能恢復正常。正常的生活行為就是佛菩薩，這叫真正學佛，在佛法裡真正得到受用。佛為什麼千言萬語苦口叮嚀？我們迷得深，雖然聽佛講經，這一下覺悟，像閃電一樣放了一下光明，離開講堂，馬上就迷了。佛知道這是眾生的老毛病，是習氣，怎麼教？必須是無數遍的提起，讓經教長時期的薰習，會產生作用。諸佛菩薩就是這麼成就的，長時密集的薰習，覺悟了。「一日暴之，十日寒之」，功夫不能成就。佛的威神力加持全在經典。經典的意思明白了，再把佛講的這些道理，變成自己的思想見解，統統落實，變成自己的生活行為，這就是佛力加持。所以離開經典，不讀經典、不聽經典、不學習經典，佛怎麼加持你？沒有辦法。所謂「讀書千遍，其義自見」，念上幾千遍，懂了，相信了，你會真幹。薰習的時間短，不行。有人聽經，聽個一遍、二遍，第三遍不想聽，這我學過了，這樣的心態，成就是很有限的。為什麼？傲慢心出來了。經的意思其深無底，其廣無邊，誰能完全知道？明心見性就全知道了。多聽、多讀，能夠幫助我們明心見性，是一個很好的方法。一門深入、長時薰修。果然把這句話做到，控制煩惱習氣需要多久？一般古時候標準三年到五年。現在三、五年不行，為什麼？內煩惱習氣太重，外面的引誘力量太強。所以今天我們生活在這個世界上，天天讀經、天天聽經，我學佛到今年五十二年了，我才能控制得住，我才能不受這個社會誘惑。天天在幹，不幹不行！不斷地去重複，薰習時間太久了，自自然然境界就轉變了。決定不能怕辛苦。真正做到鍥而不捨，才會有成就。
