姜维平（WEIPING JIANG) 记者，诗人，书法家 。1955 年10 月5日出生于中国辽宁省大连市。姜维平1995年至2000年曾任香港文汇报驻东北办事处首席代表，高级记者，1998年开始在香港《前哨》杂志发文揭露东北官员贪腐案件，其中包括原大连市长薄熙来，原沈阳市副市长马向东等，在海内外引起强烈反响；2002年12月，他被大连市国安局以“向境外非法提供国家机密罪”与“煽动颠覆国家政权罪”秘密拘捕，随后判刑6年。2006年1月3日获释，又被软禁3年，2009年初移居加拿大，现为自由撰稿人，多伦多大学访问学者。2001年，获得国际保护记者委员会新闻自由奖，2006年获得加拿大笔会国际人道奖，2004年获得纽约人权观察赫尔曼—哈米特奖。2010年10月，在香港出版《薄熙来评传》一书。这是在薄熙来权势鼎盛之时，海内外第一部，也是唯一的具有前瞻性的著作，其内容被广泛引用，影响较大，人称“打薄专业户”。
