Balıkesir Atatürk İlkokulu, İstanbul Erkek Lisesi ve İstanbul İktisadi ve Ticari İlimler Akademisi Basın Yayın ve Halkla İlişkiler bölümü mezunudur. Gazeteciliğe 1976'da Vatan gazetesinde başladı. 1978/1986 yılında Günaydın gazetesinde çalıştı. 1984-1985 yılları arası Tan gazetesini yönetti. 1986'da Sabah gazetesinin ikinci kuruluşunda görev aldı ve 2001 yılına kadar bu gazetede yönetimin çeşitli kademelerinde yer aldığı gibi köşe yazarlığı da yaptı. 2002-2004 yılında Star TV'de ana haber sundu ve Kırmızı Koltuk adlı programı sunuculuğu yaptı. 2015 yılının Ekim ayında Korkusuz gazetesinde köşe yazıları yazmaya başladı. Şu anda Nefes Gazetesinin yazar kadrosunda haftada 4 gün köşe yazısı yazıyor. 2017 yılından 2021'e kadar Tele1 televizyonunda sabah haberlerini sundu. Ardından 2021'den 2025 ocak ayına kadar Flash TV'de ana haberleri sundu.
