My life in the world of the music business started as a Mobile DJ at 15, as soon as I was old enough to get into a club “16”, I started a club in South London called the Hangout. Now I was inviting DJs like a young Paul Oakenfold to play. My life was quickly changing, my cousin George started a band called WHAM! You may of heard of them? After working my way up from the shop floor at Our Price Records, I worked with Pinnacle, Polydor, and Streetsounds Records and then it was my turn to do some major creating, so I created Hardback Records (established in 1986). I wanted to model Hardback after “Casablanca Records” back in the 1970s. They had no agenda, apart from putting out great records no matter what the genre, and ending up with the biggest Rock act on the planet; “KISS” and the biggest Dance diva “Donna Summer”. My 3rd single on Hardback sold over 1 Million copies. Strategically over the years I have only released a record that I felt had it's place, hence Hardback Records.
