Welkom op het YouTube account van Stichting ALS Nederland. Voor de dodelijke zenuw-/spierziekte ALS is dringend een oplossing nodig. Bij ALS (amyotrofische laterale sclerose) vallen je spieren één voor één uit. Na de eerste symptomen leven patiënten gemiddeld nog drie tot vijf jaar. In Nederland leven zo’n 1.500 mensen met ALS, of de aanverwante ziekten PSMA en PLS. Ieder jaar komen er 500 nieuwe patiënten bij en overlijden er ook 500. Stichting ALS Nederland financiert wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar de oorzaak en behandeling van ALS, PSMA en PLS. Patiënten is maar weinig tijd gegund. Daarom zetten we ons ook in voor een betere kwaliteit van zorg en leven van patiënten en hun naasten. Het noodzakelijke onderzoek is afhankelijk van donaties.
