Savagery spielen Old School Death Metal ohne Kompromisse. Sie werden mit Sicherheit niemals Innovationspreise gewinnen, aber das ist auch nicht das erklärte Ziel des Fünfers aus Münster in Westfalen. Man möchte vielmehr dem Geist der Alten Schule des Death Metal Tribut zollen und ehrliche, straighte Musik spielen, frei von Schnörkeln und Modeerscheinungen. Textlich könnte man die Musik als „vertonten Horrorfilm" beschreiben, in der zwar sozialkritische Klänge ihren Platz finden, aber politische oder religiöse Aspekte ausgeklammert werden, da für die Band die Musik im Vordergrund steht. Im Frühjahr 2009 brachte man die erste, im eigenen Proberaum selbstproduzierte, EP mit dem Namen „Welcome To Savagery" heraus, die einen repräsentativen Querschnitt durch das bisherige Schaffen der Band darstellt.
