Welcome to my channel. Although I call myself The Occasional Detectorist I've been detecting for decades and thought it's time to put my efforts onto video. Decades ago I was using a Cscope detector as I didn't want to spend a lot of cash on an infrequently used detector. I upgraded 15 years ago to what I considered at the time to be a middle range Garrett Ace 250 detector, surprisingly still available. Of course you can easily spend £1000 or more but I have recently upgraded to a Minelab XTerra pro a relatively recent detector to hit the market. This has many more features than the Ace 250 but surprisingly selling in the UK currently for only about £349. My more recent addition is the Nocta Simplex Ultra, similar to the XTerra Pro in ability. Don't forget detecting is for fun and for history lovers trying to find the history buried in the soil.
