2003年4月、東京藝術大学出身の、Mana（吉永真奈）・Tomoca（長須与佳）・Chie（新井智恵）の3人により結成。 箏、十七絃、三味線、琵琶、尺八といった日本伝統楽器とRock、Dance Musicとの融合を図る。2004年avexから「幸魂〜sakitama〜」でメジャーデビュー、2005年第19回ゴールドディスク大賞ニュー・アーティスト・オブ・ザ・イヤー受賞、2006年アルバム「Inland sea」にて、アメリカでCDデビューを果たす。アメリカ、中国、フランス、メキシコ、ブラジルなど、海外でもライブを多数行い高く評価された。 2009年2月13日活動終了を発表。2019年3月に再始動。 2019年3月にはアートフェア東京2019のArt nightにおいて再始動後初となるシークレットライブ、9月に赤坂BLITZにて復活ライブ「時空をこえる」を開催し、本格的に活動を再開。そして約10年ぶりとなるNew Album「宝輪- HORIN-」をリリース。 ユニット名には、「凛（りん）とする」という意味、英語の「Ring（輪）」、和楽の「和」という3つの意味を込めており、音楽を通じて更なる「輪」を作っていくことを目指している。
