Nama "Nuralwala" adalah pengubahan dari kata "Hariq Nar al-Wala", yang bermakna "Yang Terbakar dalam Api Cinta". Ia adalah gelar yang disematkan oleh Al-Hujwiri dalam Kasyf al-Mahjub kepada Imam 'Ali bin Abi Thalib, sosok yang kepadanya bermuara seluruh aliran tasawuf dalam Islam. Pemanfaatan nama ini hanya sebagai bentuk 'ngalap berkah' semata.
