This Week's Film is a year-long project I started after coming to the sad realization that I had not truly engaged in any creative work of my own in almost a decade. With each passing year of zero artistic output I felt more and more phony calling myself a "filmmaker." At some point I had stopped treating my brain as something that needed exercise and training to keep in shape, and so it became fat and lazy, expecting results without putting in any work. With this project, I am challenging myself to put in that work - moment by moment, step by step, week by week - accepting the fact that the results on screen will not always be spectacular, profound, or anywhere near perfect. The goal is not to make 52 amazing films, but rather to simply make some damn films. Because that's what filmmakers do.
