Vo.古舘佑太郎 / Gt.加藤綾太 / Ba.森夏彦 古舘佑太郎(ex. The SALOVERS)と加藤綾太(ex. ポニーテールスクライム)を中心に2017年結成。双方とも所属していたバンドを無期限活動休止していたが、「バンドで音を鳴らしたい」という欲求が抑えられず、結成に至る。2022年2月22日、Ba.森夏彦(ex. Shiggy Jr.)とDr.歌川菜穂(ex. 赤い公園)が加入し、4人体制となってバンド名を“2”から“THE 2”とする。2023年Dr.歌川が育児専念のため脱退。 バンド名はメンバーの音楽人生の“エピソード2”を意味している。古舘佑太郎の独創性溢れる焦燥的言語感覚が、キレ味あるオルタナティヴ・サウンドに乗り、酸味の効いた主旋律を鳴らす。 2024年2月のワンマンライブをもって、解散することが決定
