We moved to France in the middle of the pandemic (we bought before it became a pandemic, but completing the process took a long time) to take advantage of freedom of movement within the EU before Brexit would make this impossible. We have no DIY skills and have never restored a house before so this adventure is going to be a learning experience (I’m a software engineer and Helen is a buyer) especially since we have a 1.5 year old daughter and a 4 year old son who are always keen to ‘help’ with anything that we do. We also have only GCSE level french (I got a D) so apparently we really, really enjoy a challenge. ‘If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything’ is not just a quote from one of our favourite films but also a life motto. Hopefully we won’t end up like the daily mash meme, but if we do it’ll all be on YouTube for everyone to enjoy, so come join us on this adventure of a lifetime!
