TESTSET (砂原良徳×LEO今井×白根賢一×永井聖一) 2021年夏、高橋幸宏率いるバンドMETAFIVEのメンバーであった砂原良徳とLEO今井が、特別編成としてGREAT3の白根賢一（Dr）と相対性理論の永井聖一（Gr）を迎え、FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ‘21に4人で出演したことから誕生し、2022年より、グループ名を新たにTESTSET（テストセット）と冠してライブ活動を開始。これまでアルバムを1枚、配信EP2枚をリリースしている。 唯一無二と称されるマシンビートとロックサウンドの融合を基盤にした音楽性と、無機質でありながらもエネルギッシュでスタイリッシュなサウンドが特徴。ライブに関しては、結成後3年間でFUJI ROCK FESTIVAL、SONICMANIA、朝霧JAMをはじめ、国外では中国の2本のフェスなど多数の大型フェスやイベントに出演。 ステージ上の4人がレコーディング音源を新たに構築し、自由に深化させ体現する圧倒的な音像と、ステージ背面のLEDやプロジェクターによって映し出される映像演出で更なる没入感を生み出すライブパフォーマンスは、多くのロック、エレクトロミュージック、クラブミュージックファンを魅了する。 In 2021, Yoshinori Sunahara and Leo Imai, two members from Yukihiro Takahashi’s musical project METAFIVE, performed at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL with support from Kenichi Shirane (GREAT3) on drums and Seiichi Nagai (Soutaiseiriron) on guitar. Originally intended as a one-off lineup show for METAFIVE, this four-piece subsequently changed their name to TESTSET, and have released two albums and two EPs to date. Their hybrid sound of rock songwriting over machine-driven beats is at once both stoical and energetic; clinical yet impassioned. Three years into their formation, they have played numerous large festivals in Japan including FUJI ROCK, SONICMANIA, ASAGIRI JAM, and two in China. Their live shows add a palpable aggression and dynamism to their sleek recordings, enhanced further by LED stage props and visual projections, and are steadily garnering fans of both rock/alternative and electronic/club music alike.
