Sometimes when I read or see the news the challenges faced by humanity seem to be so insurmountable that I wonder how one family can make any sort of impact or difference. So this channel is about how we are trying to reduce the impact that our family has on the environment and how we can live in a more sustainable way. We are all going to face massive and sweeping changes within our lifetimes so this will be kind of a step by step documentary on how we will embrace and take ownership of this change rather than having it forced upon us. The main focus will be on land use and how we can use the resources we have to produce food while enhancing our land, soil and local wildlife. To turn the land we live on into a carbon store rather than a carbon source while supplying a good chunk of the food we need. We live in Canada so as well as the outside garden we will also be growing hydroponically to reduce our food miles during the winter months.
