Vanessa Marcia is a musician and singer from the Netherlands from Surinamese descent. Growing up she got influenced by a lot of music styles, like soul, R&B, hiphop, reggae, dancehall, latin, afrobeats, kaseko kawina and other Caribbean styles. At a young age she started to sing in the youthchoir in church and learned to play the piano. Over the years Vanessa attended many gospelchoirs, bands and groups and learned to play different instruments. After many years of being active as a backing vocal for local and international artists, Vanessa started to create solo work since 2018. She released her first solo single "Own Me Forever" in 2019, featuring Gambian reggae/dancehall artist Sensi Q. After her debut Vanessa has been working on more music. Because she is influenced by different music genres, she also plays and produces a diversity of styles. Vanessa was also the founder and leader of all female band 'Ladiesjam'. Furthermore she works as a music teacher in schools and private.
