This rather random collection of clips and programmes are the result of various former BBC staff members from the 1980s and 1990s discovering VHS tapes hidden in cupboards and lofts. A lot of the footage quality is the result of them originally being transferred from the original 16mil to VHS via a Steenbeck so they've not been digitally enhanced. And a lot have timecode because they were originally used for logging or editing. Thank you for all the kind comments. This represents a fraction of the vast archive of sport from the 1950's to 1980s that the BBC owns and has previously digitised. It is a great shame that it remains hidden in a storage facility rather than being made available for general viewing. I hope that one day someone will buy and publish it ! Although ... the rights situation will be a bit of a nightmare !
