康乃爾英語正式成立於1989年的11月7日，為提供孩子一個完全英語的環境，1990年正式成立全英語幼兒部，當時這是台中第一所提供給台灣孩子全英語教學的幼兒園。除了是第一所全英語教學的幼兒園外，也是第一所用電腦光碟教室來幫助學生學習英文；第一所完全採用美國學校課程；第一所直接從國外聘請專業老師來台教學的學校。 　康乃爾深信名師出高徒，唯有專業老師才可以在最短時間內讓孩子有效率的學習正確英文，因此所有師資直接聘自美國、加拿大等英語系國家，皆是當地具合格教師證的在職中、小學老師，二十餘年來已有超過五百名合格外籍教師任教於康乃爾，與學校有深厚的感情。 　十多年以來，台中市康乃爾英語秉持服務社會的心情，致力於台灣優質英語教育，特別出版「彩虹時間兒童英文有聲故事」，於中部廣播電台播出英文故事節目，與偏遠地區學童分享寶貴的英語資源。四度獲得國立教育廣播電台甄選為最佳兒童節目。 　二十餘年來康乃爾盡全力來幫助每位學生得到最好的英文教育。這些年來學生除了陸續就讀台大、清華等名校，也成功申請到世界百大學校如哈佛、柏克來等頂尖研究所。未來將繼續秉持初衷，以更多元的英文學習教材、多媒體電子學習產品提供下一代最優質的英語教育。
