「旅は最高の学校」を体現しながら、家族で世界を旅してきた4人家族。 2019年、当時5歳と2歳だった2人の息子を連れ、家族4人で日本を出発。キャンピングカーでアメリカ大陸、アフリカ、中東、ヨーロッパ、ユーラシア大陸などを巡り、5年間・50カ国・約12万kmの世界一周を達成しました。 旅に出る大きなきっかけとなったのは、両親の死。「人生はいつ終わるかわからない。元気なうちに、本当にやりたいことをやろう」と、仕事を辞め、自宅を売却して家族で世界へ飛び出しました。 旅の中では、学校の教室だけでは得られない、人との出会い、異文化、自然、失敗や挑戦そのものを子どもたちの学びとして捉え、「旅は最高の学校」という教育観を育んできました。 2024年に世界一周を終え、現在は世界自然遺産の島・屋久島を拠点に活動。自然体験や旅のコーディネート、講演、旅育コミュニティなどを通して、「子どもの未来の選択肢を増やすこと」をテーマに活動しています。 著書に『ぼくの学校は世界中』『子どもの未来の選択肢を増やすために、いま親ができること』があります。
