This is a channel about model trains, with some railfanning mixed in for good measure. It features the D–Saver, my small HO scale 1‘ x 6‘ switching puzzle layout I built on a shelf using Atlas code 83 track, a used Athearn Genesis SP GP38–2, and some 20 year old rollingstock. It’s my version of John Allen’s Timesaver, which has been around for over 50 years, modified to fit my needs. It features Tsunami-2 sound decoders, DCC-EX on an Arduino Mega, JMRI software, Wifi-Throttles on my phone and tablet, and my custom designed D-Saver switch-list app running in Excel. Even though the layout is tiny, it’s good for hours of switching operation each session. I’ll also try to highlight some of the model railroaders here on YouTube that inspired me in my journey, and without knowing it encouraged me to create this channel.
