The African Universities' Research Approaches (AURA) programme is a consortium led by the Institute of Development Studies in collaboration with ITOCA/Information Training and Outreach Centre for Africa and Professor Mark Hepworth based at the Centre for Information Management, Loughborough University. The AURA programme was sponsored by the UK Government’s Department for International Development and ran from 1 November 2014 to 30 September 2016. The AURA Programme work with four universities in Sub-Saharan Africa, over the next two years, to enrich the research and teaching practices of academics working in a range of disciplines including health, agriculture and the environment. These learning partnership hope to address continent-wide goals to support higher education institutions to transform Africa by investing in research and teaching practice that can bring about economic prosperity and sustainable change.
