The Tannery Barr is 100% a waste product, yes that’s right, every hide you see was heading for the bin. That’s where Lachies’ idea was born, starting out professional shooting across farms in Victoria, Lachie was surprised to see there was no market for deer hides once they had been processed for their meat and started tanning hides for friends and family. Each individual hide has been handled over 24 times in the tanning process. Its a labour of love and passion. Every step of the hide is done in the same location with Lachie and his team.
