“The Old Farts” is a 70's Rock Tribute band from Belgium, that pays tribute to the heavier hardrock music from the 70's. The band was formed in the fall of 2022 by the two key members and brothers Jan and Luc Van Dessel (respectively drummer and guitarist), 2 icons from the flemish rock scene. The brothers appeared in various bands until tragedy struck and Jan was forced to stop his career as a drummer due to a back injury. However, thanks to a specially designed drum chair, in 2022 he saw the opportunity to pick up again his passion as a drummer and to relaunch his musical career. Unfortunately, at the end of 2023, Jan was diagnosed with a severe thrombosis, which forced him to quit drumming permanently. However the band has found a worthy replacement in first class drummer Geert Mariën.
