「まさに、天才だ。」 彼らは自分の力を信じ、試したいという。 2024年にファーストアルバム『Remember Me?』で大成功を収めたKaneee。メガヒットとなったLife is Romanceを始め、豪華客演ラッパー・プロデューサー達と多大なる功績を収めた。2025年には二度のワンマンライブ FORCE FESTIVAL やPOP YOURSなど大きな舞台を経験し飛躍の一年となった。 そんな彼が大きな勝負に出る。 「僕達の音楽の作り方や、感じ方、伝え方は確実に他とは違う。だからこそ自分達の力だけでどこまで行けるのか、セカンドアルバムはそれを試したい」 kaneeeはそう言う。デビュー当時からKaneeeのアーティストプロデュースをしている相方でもあるRay Inoueと2人で、足りない所は補い合い 作り上げたセカンドアルバム《GENIUS》は「未だかつて無い」を大事にしていて、ヒップホップというジャンルの中でも様々な曲調、メロディーで作られている。 「GENIUSで一番テーマにした事は、僕たち2人だけでこのアルバムを作るからこそ、どれだけ多くの人の人生に影響を与えられるか、どれだけ多くの人を救えるかを一番大事にしました。」 Kaneee自身も過去に音楽に救われた経験から、誰かを救う事をこのアルバムの一番のテーマだと彼は言う。 「前作も今作もそうですけど、僕達は今までに見たこと聞いたことの無い新しい作品をずっと作り続けたいです。」 今作は前作と大きく変わってプロデューサーを呼ばずに全てのビートがType beatで出来ている。その新しい挑戦は彼らにとって難しくもあり、また1から音楽に向き合えた良い時間でもあったと彼らは言う。 「ファーストアルバムの気持ちで作りました。制作にも今までで一番時間がかかったので、辛い時、楽しい時、色んな感情の曲が入ってると思います。今、僕達が持っている全てを注ぎ込んだので是非聞いて欲しいです」
