My name is Ziggy Bokalders and I am a left-handed bass player and a part-time musician. I have played in various bands during my lifetime, none of them famous so I make no pretension here... I picked up the bass guitar when I was 17. My very first bass was a white 1967 Fender Precision which was right-handed and cost around $150... I played it upside down like Jimi Hendrix. I didn't do that by choice, as I could not find a lefty bass in 1972 as they were very rare. Nowadays I play mostly Sire Marcus Miller basses, as they have the best playable necks and most all of their basses are available left-handed. I play my cover songs in my own way and my own interpretation... I try to play what sounds good in my head...Long ago I was advised by pro musicians not to copy a song note for note. Play with your heart, not your brain I was told... I hope you enjoy my contribution...!
