If a Supra can have a BMW engine, why can't it have a BMW logo? π The new-generation Toyota GR Supra (MK5) has been hated on the internet so much, and for what? Its looks? Nope. Its features? Nope. Just because it has a BMW engine. Seriously? Some people even call it a BMW Z4 with a Toyota badge. Bro, did you land on your head when you were born? π Yes, the MK5 Supra and BMW Z4 share the same platform and BMW's B58 engine in their six-cylinder versions. Nobody is denying that. But sharing an engine and platform doesn't automatically make two cars identical. Toyota and BMW worked together on these cars, but each brand developed its own suspension tuning, steering calibration, chassis setup, and driving character. The Supra is a fixed-roof sports coupe, while the Z4 is a roadster. They have different personalities. And this isn't even something new in the automotive industry. Aston Martin has used Mercedes-AMG engines in several models. Does that suddenly make an Aston Martin a Mercedes? Of course not. Different manufacturers can use the same engine architecture while changing the calibration, supporting components, and overall driving experience. And no, I'm not saying the Supra has completely different internals from the Z4. That's not the point. The point is that an engine alone doesn't define an entire car. The MK5 Supra has its own identity, its own handling characteristics, and its own driving experience. People who have actually driven both cars will understand what I'm talking about. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with Toyota using a BMW engine. The B58 is a fantastic engine, so why complain? Would you still call the MK5 Supra a BMW Z4, or do you think it deserves its own identity? What are your thoughts? π€π Media: weleywins/IG #ToyotaSupra #GRSupra #MK5Supra #BMWZ4 #B58 #CarCommunity #HydraCulture
