A BOEING 737 GETS A FACE FULL OF 777 WAKE TURBULENCE! THIS IS WHY PILOTS GO AROUND! āœˆļøšŸ˜³ After flying KC-135 tankers into airports all over the world, I know exactly what this 737 crew was looking at. And what happened next is something every pilot takes seriously! Air Traffic Control clears the Boeing 737 for landing. But there's one BIG problem. A Boeing 777 HEAVY is departing right in front of it! As the 737 approaches the runway, the crew realizes something isn't right. They're getting closer to the ground, and that 777 is climbing directly ahead of them. Then it happens! THE 737 GETS A FACE FULL OF 777! If you've ever been close to heavy jet wake turbulence, you know just how dangerous it can be. A departing Boeing 777 leaves behind powerful swirling vortices that can seriously affect a smaller aircraft. The 737 crew makes the right call and executes a GO-AROUND, climbing away from the runway and avoiding the potential danger. This is one of those moments when a pilot's judgment matters. You don't force a landing when the conditions aren't right. You fly the airplane, make the decision, and live to land another day! Having spent 24 years flying Air Force KC-135 tankers, I can tell you that wake turbulence is no joke. It's one of the hazards every pilot has to respect. And the KC-135 is considered a "HEAVY" due to its 325K Gross Takeoff weight. WOULD YOU HAVE GONE AROUND, OR TRIED TO LAND? Tell me what you think in the comments! Follow me for more incredible aviation videos, cockpit experiences, and lessons from a career flying KC-135 tankers.
