Video Production Notes: The music video portion of this song was created in several stages. Concept & Story: The main story and visual concept began as simple sketches using pencil and notepad. Step 1 – Image Generation (Grok Imagine): I started by generating a visual foundation using Grok Imagine. I had a clear sense of the environment, which I translated into prompts such as: “Three salsa singers singing and dancing in a recording studio, in front of the recording room window.” I generated multiple images, repeating the process until I found one that captured the right feeling. Step 2 – Video Generation: Using the selected image, I then prompted Grok Imagine to create short video clips (around 6 seconds works best for my workflow). My prompts included: * Movement and choreography * Musical style and tempo (e.g., Salsa at 180 BPM) * Lyrics and lip-sync cues * Camera direction and motion Step 3 – Editing (Final Cut Pro): I imported the generated clips into Final Cut Pro, where I completed the full video edit and assembly. _______ Music Production Notes: I began with vocal ideas, I then uploaded these short vocal sketches to Suno, iterating until I found versions that matched both the tone and phrasing I had in mind. From there, I selected three key elements from the generated material: * The lead vocals * The acoustic guitar accompaniment in the intro * The Cuban guitar solo later in the song I imported these into Logic Pro and built the full arrangement around them. - Drums & Percussion: I started with rhythm, shaping a transition from Reggaeton into a medium Salsa feel at 180 BPM, which gave the track its dynamic lift. * Reggaeton elements: Reggaeton Master Producer and Reggaeton Rex Vol. 2 (producersvault.com) * Salsa elements: NEO Salsa 2.0 Vol. 1 (producersvault.com) * Additional percussion, fills, and hits were programmed using Kontakt 8 - Bass: The main bass sound is a layered combination: * Baby Bass (producersvault.com) for body and depth * Shreddage 3 E-Upright (Impact Soundworks) for attack and definition I also used Omnisphere 3 Trilian for: * A drone-style bass in the intro * Expressive slides and phrase endings - Piano: I used PianoTeq (Modartt), customizing the Blüthner model to fit the MIDI performance and tonal character I wanted. - Brass Arrangement: The brass section consists of seven parts: * 2 Trumpets * Alto & Tenor Sax * Alto & Bass Trombone * Baritone Sax I wrote the arrangement in Sibelius, then performed each part individually using Audio Modeling SWAM instruments. To shape the spatial image, I used SWAM Ambiente Room Simulator to position each instrument within a virtual acoustic space. - Cuban Tres (Guitar): I liked the original melodic line but wanted a different tone. Using the PRISM Audio-to-MIDI plugin (aurallysound.com), I converted the audio performance to MIDI and layered it with Omnisphere 3 Nylon Sky, effectively reshaping the sound while preserving the musical phrasing. - Additional Elements: * Ethnic flute (outro): SWAM VariFlute * Accordion-style synth texture for added color - MIDI Performance: All instruments were performed live into Logic Pro as MIDI, including: * Piano * Bass * Full brass section * Flute * Accordion * Drum fills and additional percussion - SWAM instruments, in particular, require expressive control and a natural playing approach due to their responsiveness. To manage the track, I created: * A master rhythm chart * A full brass score - Mixing & Mastering: * Spatial processing: SWAM Ambiente Room Simulator (brass & flute) I relied heavily on UAD plugins, including: * Capitol Chambers * Lexicon 224 * Ocean Way Studios For referencing and analysis: * ADPTR MetricAB * iZotope Tonal Balance Control Final mastering chain included: * Sonnox Oxford Limiter * UAD Hitsville EQ Note: From the first vocal sketch to the final master, the goal was simple: let every element move together to serve the feeling, and let the music speak with clarity and soul. ————— Links & Credits: I’d like to clarify that I am not sponsored or paid by any of the companies listed below.
