This episode dives deep into the growing controversy around voter list revisions ahead of the West Bengal elections, raising serious questions about fairness, transparency, and intent. The Election Commission’s massive “clean-up” drive has resulted in nearly 60 lakh voters being marked as suspicious, out of which around 27 lakh names have been removed from the voter list. While 32.68 lakh were eventually deemed eligible, over 34 lakh people have already approached tribunals challenging their exclusion. The Supreme Court has refused interim relief to these 27 lakh voters, meaning they won’t be allowed to vote in the upcoming elections unless their appeals are accepted later. The court reasoned that allowing them now would set a precedent for all disputed voters. However, the real controversy lies in the pattern of deletions. A significant portion—nearly 49.53%—of the removed voters come from just five districts where the Trinamool Congress (TMC) had dominated in 2021. In contrast, BJP-stronghold districts saw far fewer deletions, raising questions about possible bias. Even more concerning is that in several constituencies where victory margins were tight, the number of deleted voters is multiple times higher than the winning margin, potentially altering electoral outcomes. Additionally, data from the adjudication phase suggests a disproportionate number of Muslim voters were marked as “suspicious,” sparking allegations of targeted exclusion. A newly introduced category, “Logical Discrepancy,” along with issues in the ERONET software and inconsistencies in old electoral rolls, has further complicated the process. Meanwhile, a brief and reportedly tense meeting between TMC leaders and the Chief Election Commissioner has only added fuel to the fire. Is this a genuine clean-up or a calculated electoral intervention? This episode breaks down the numbers, patterns, and implications. #WestBengalElections #VoterList #ElectionCommission #TMC #BJP #SupremeCourt #IndianPolitics #Democracy #VoterRights #ElectionControversy ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 📲 Available on: • Molitics App (iOS) – https://apps.apple.com/in/app/molitics/id1273743985 • Molitics App (Android) – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.molitics.molitician&pcampaignid=web_share • Website – https://www.molitics.in 📢 Follow us on: • View all Videos :- https://www.molitics.in/moliticsvideos/list • Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/Molitics • Twitter – https://x.com/moliticsindia?s=20 • Instagram –https://www.instagram.com/moliticsindia/ • WhatsApp Channel – https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vaa7gvnHQbS960rGiz2c 📩 Contact us at: [email protected]
