👑 FIRST TIME WATCHING MICHAEL (2026)! I finally watched MICHAEL (2026), the long-awaited Michael Jackson biopic directed by Antoine Fuqua, and honestly… I loved every minute of it. For me, this wasn’t really a traditional biopic. It felt like a 2-hour Michael Jackson tribute concert with just enough story connecting the performances, and I mean that as a compliment. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or someone who’s followed the controversy surrounding Michael Jackson, there’s no denying that he was a once-in-a-generation entertainer whose influence on music, dance, filmmaking, and pop culture is almost impossible to overstate. This movie celebrates that talent in spectacular fashion while following his rise from the Jackson 5 through his evolution into the biggest pop star on Earth. (michael-the-movie.com) The film stars Jaafar Jackson—Michael’s real-life nephew—in an incredible debut performance that goes far beyond impersonation. At times it genuinely feels like you’re watching Michael himself. The supporting cast includes Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Miles Teller as John Branca, Laura Harrier as Suzanne de Passe, Larenz Tate as Berry Gordy, and Kendrick Sampson as Quincy Jones. Directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), written by John Logan (Gladiator, Skyfall), and produced by Graham King, the film recreates many of Michael Jackson’s most iconic performances while charting his rise from child prodigy to global superstar. (Rotten Tomatoes) I know this movie has generated plenty of debate because of Michael Jackson’s legacy and the allegations that have surrounded him for decades. This reaction isn’t about relitigating those controversies—it’s about my experience watching the film as a piece of cinema and as a celebration of one of the most influential performers in music history.
