Alright today we're going over exactly why your chest isn't growing... and it's probably not why you think. NEW PPL PROGRAM: https://bit.ly/GETRHPPL FULL GYM PROGRAM: https://bit.ly/fullgymprogram 30 DAY GARAGE PROGRAM: https://bit.ly/3igtiIF The first thing you have to do is for the next 4 weeks every time you train chest you're only going to do exercises unilaterally. One arm at a time. Why is that? think about it this way. If you've ever done a bent over db row I'm sure you walked away feeling fairly torn up... might of even sh*t out your spine but when put up against a one arm row it's not even a fair comparison. The amount you can force that lat to stretch and how you're able to exaggerate the contraction is something you just can't get with bilateral work. The same applies to training your chest training, when you're doing a traditional cable fly your limitations become very apparent, you're only able to stretch as far as your bound posterior muscles will let you and then you can only contract to your midline.. sure you can cross your hands, one higher and one lower but I'm too OCD. When you focus on one side at a time not only can you make sure the your shoulder ins't tilting forward and the anterior delt isn't dominating the movement but you can also exaggerate the stretch of your chest by turning your shoulders away from the machine as you go into the negative. And this is not just flys that this is useful for, when you're able to focus on pec at a time during a dumbbell press you're able to figure out what path gives you a greater contraction because sometimes it's not the one you would think. For me setting up a steep incline and driving my elbow in as I contract up allows me to flex the fibers that are closest to my sternum even better than a coffin press can. The next thing you have to do is stop thinking about chest movements being so liner... Most people think lower chest, I need to press down.. upper then i need to aim up... but as you've clearly seen from the lady of the night I had in here earlier all those fibers encircle those big ole bags of sand and come together to connect at the humerus. Start Thinking of the orientation of fibers as a potential different paths or angles you are able contract on. Which one you chose will determine which fibers are the most stressed. One of my favorite ways to start my chest training is to pre-exhaust those inner fibers I do this is by taking an exercise band or really light weight on the cables, facing away, flexing across my body to contract the upper most fibers that are attached to the sternum and then driving that contraction all the way sternum flexing the rest of those fibers that are on the innermost part of your cleavage.. Lastly, if you're having trouble connecting with your chest. At least one of the exercises you do is all shoulders then I would start every chest day with a posterior delt exercise. #chest #chestgrowth #buildmoremuscle
