Capture the Flag, at NIGHT! This is Season 26, Marble Race 15! Let's go! Yellow and Red have been fighting hard for the points lead. Green not far behind in third place for the season so far! Our second capture-the-flag race, this time at night. I am really happy with how the designs turned out in this one, both the marbles and the tracks. This race builds on the previous capture-the-flag race ideas, with lots of split paths with multiple flags, and walls of blocks to keep the racing tight. And it was a tight race, going down to the last stretch of the last race! Like last time, it is one point per flag and three points for this last flag - only this time the last flag is really three separate, tightly grouped flags which will potentially make for interesting finishes. Pick your color and good luck! May the best marble win! Watch to the end for outtakes and behind-the-scenes! :) Chapters: 0:00 Marble Race 1 3:26 Marble Race 2 6:39 Marble Race 3 9:58 Marble Race 4 13:16 Marble Race 5 and Podiums 16:44 Outtakes! :) 18:04 Aerial Video Replays 19:23 Behind the Scenes Creation Process: My marble races are hand-created by me in Blender (3D animation software). It is not AI. I hand-build the tracks, I spend many hours each week creating marble designs, I manually add all the camera keyframes etc. Check out the behind-the-scenes segment at the end of this video, where I show parts of the marble design process and - as requested - my manual keyframing process for controlling the camera movements. On average it takes me around 100 hours to create one video. The race outcomes are determined by simulated physics built into the software, not by me! :) Additional graphics created by me in Affinity Designer. I sometimes use stock images from Poly Haven, Pexels and Pixabay when creating new textures. Technical Details: 3D Software: Blender 4.0, using rigid body animation. (Yes, I still use Blender 4.0, because I prefer the older EEVEE render engine!) Render Engine: EEVEE Render Specs: 4K UHDTV, 60 frames per second. 2D Software: Affinity Designer 2 Final Editing: Blender 4.0 (and sometimes Davinci Resolve) Time per video (rough avg.): 40 hours for 3D modelling, 10 hours physics testing, 2 hours camera keyframing, 20 to 30 hours rendering, 20 hours for sound and final editing.
