Week 29 in the ongoing Ⓢ series, which follows the construction of a new 13-story senior living building in San Francisco. This is a #construction #timelapse with various closeups and "sub-time-lapses" at various speeds, condensing the week of August 17 - 23, 2020, into just over an hour. This episode is sort of a "slow starter", as a majority of the closeups, and perhaps the most interesting ones, are concentrated towards the end on Friday and Saturday. I suspect some casual viewers will lose interest and bail, with perhaps only the more dedicated time-lapse enthusiasts staying to the end where most of the closeups are. A bit of a handicap in YouTube-land for a video to not grab you right off, but so be it, it just worked out that way this week due to the nature of the work. Although, there are some interesting smokey sunset time-lapses early on, and myself I kinda like the whole thing. Will be interesting to see what the YouTube stats say. This is an extra-long episode (in fact, I think the longest of the Ⓢ series so far), primarily for four reasons: (1) there was work on all 7 days, even Sunday, and (2) this episode has the last big concrete pour that we'll get a decent view of (on Friday), so I spent some time on that, and (3) the first of the pre-cast exterior panels goes up (on Saturday and Sunday), so I spent some time on that, including a field trip, and (4) I didn't skip past the sunsets as much as usual, because I wanted to show the smokey atmosphere. All of that combined to make an extra-long episode. Aside from the first pre-cast exterior panels going in, another very notable thing about this week is that smoke from the California and West Coast wildfires arrives in our area, causing some poor air quality. The smoke and poor air quality will peak in the following weeks. The last remnants of that rare San Francisco summer lightning storm is seen on Monday, and the tower crane is not run on Monday because of it. 00:00 - Mon (lightning, interior concrete pour) 05:06 - Tue (tensioning-related work, ductwork) 13:34 - Wed (censored rebar, bad air, tensioning-related work) 20:00 - Thu (sawing, Doc Brown, central core rebar) 26:37 - Fri (columns, concrete pour, net raising) 37:45 - Sat (exterior panels, underside of hangers+sleeves) 54:21 - Sun (welding panels, ghost) 59:14 - Closing and previews Music licensed from Audio Network.
