Today the second episode of glitch’s knights of guinevere series came out. Is it any good? Let’s talk about it. Wolves around the corner takes place right after the pilot. We meet a couple new characters and gwen finally wakes up from her dream, but is tormented with nightmares and memories of her past. The cast end up battling a new villain called armend and gwen steals his arm. The ending is pretty hopeful, setting up for episode 3. So i really enjoyed this episode. Dana terrace said before that episode 2 would be a litmus test and after watching i can see why. It felt quite different from the pilot, in terms of plot progression, pacing and especially the gore and violence. I loved all of it, but i think this could be a turn off for some glitch viewers, especially younger children. A lot of the darker elements which they teased in the pilot were really put on display here and it was wonderful. The animation was beautiful and the soundtrack especially was spot on. The songs set the mood for each scene and helped alot with the worldbuilding. They introduced a few new characters like patience, and krash. Armend was a interesting villain as well. The star of the show in my opinion though was gwen. We finally saw her interacting with andi and frankie, she is so much fun. She’s incredibly complex. She leads to some of the funniest scenes in the pilot, especially with her emotions and mannerisms. However you empathize with what she’s been through and causes alot of the darkest scary moments too. I’m really happy what we saw of her. In terms of criticisms i only have one and it’s the way some shots lingered. A few of the shots would kind of linger on screen for 10 to 15 seconds which was a bit jarring once i noticed it.
